PURPOSE:To obtain an image receiving paper of a low cost while keeping a characteristic of reproduction of an efficient half tone color, by forming a dyeing layer by coating emulsion, latex, aqueous solution, etc. for which water is used as a dispersion medium on a thin hydrophobic layer established on an ordinary coat paper. CONSTITUTION:An extremely thin hydrophobic layer 3 is established by printing or coating gravure ink, offset ink, varnish, etc. of solvent excepting alcohol or non-solvent on a surface of an ordinary coat paper prepared by water base coating 2 on a plain paper 1. Further, a dyeing layer 4 of water soluble resin or emulsion, latex, etc. is coated thereon by water base coating to form a certain thickness. Thus, a sublimation type thermal transfer image receiving paper which is excellent in flatness and smoothness, has glossiness, has no dot omission and no transfer omission on an image, and is excellent in shelf life of the image, can be obtained. |
