<p>PURPOSE:To obtain Faraday effect material which exhibits a large Verdet constant value and to miniatureize the magnetic field sensor by using a CdS- MnS-ZnS series alloy as the essential component. CONSTITUTION:The Faraday effect material having the large Verdet constant is obtd. by alloy ZnS to a CdMnS alloy. Namely, the CdS-MnS-ZnS series alloy is used as the essential component of the Faraday effect material. Any materials are usable as for as the materials are the Faraday effect materials essentially consisting of the CdS-MnS-ZnS series alloy in this case; for example, elements, such as Te and Se, may be slightly incorporated therein. Sufficient sensitivity is obtd. in this way even if the crystal bod6y is not set long in the case of suing this material as the crystal body to constitute a Faraday rotating element. The magnetic field sensor which can measure magnetic fields even in a narrow place is obtd.</p> |
