PURPOSE:To make strong bond of a lubricant layer with a recording layer and to obtain a recording medium having good moisture proofness given by the surface orientation of fluorine groups in the lubricant by forming the lubricating layer in which specific alkylsilane is formed on the surface of the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The lubricant layer 1 comprising alkylsilane expressed by formu la I is formed on the surface of the recording layer 2 which is provided on the substrate 3. In formula I, at least one of R1 to R4 represents fluorine-contg. alkyl group or amino group, carboxyl group or ether bond-contg. alkyl group. Others are halogen, alkoxy group, acetoxy group or hydroxy group. By this method, adhesion between the recording layer and the lubricating layer and the bonding force of lubricant molecules are increased, and the surface energy is reduced by the fluorine group. Thus, the lubricating material for recording medium has excellent wear resistance, friction property and moisture proofness. |
