PURPOSE:To suppress fluctuation of torque of a motor compressor by decreasing the pause time in a control signal by a predetermined value at a time from an initial value when means for judging existence of short circuit spike current makes a negative judgment, and then setting a shortest pause time at which the judging means does not make an affirmative judgment. CONSTITUTION:DC current at an inverter section 3 is detected through a current detecting circuit 4 and provided, as a detection signal, to the judging means 15 in a control circuit 6. The judging means 15 makes a judgment whether the inputted detection signals contain a short circuit spike current indicating simultaneous turn ON of any one pair of switching elements 9-14. When the judging means 15 makes a negative judgment, the shortest pause time setting means in the control circuit 6 decreases the pause time in a control signal by a predetermined value at a time and determines a shortest pause time at which the judging means 15 does not make an affirmative judgment, and then the pause time in the control signal is set at thus determined shortest pause time. |
