<p>PURPOSE:To ease inspection and maintenance by allowing a cassette loading port formed on an end part to approach a window formed in the vicinity of the center of a rack, connecting the loading port to the window and arranging the whole device approximately like an T shape in the case of observing it on a plane view. CONSTITUTION:A required cassette is selected by a carrier formed on one side of the rack for two-dimensionally housing cassettes, carried to the window 16 of the rack 10 and then transferred to a retrieving device 50 positioned on the opposite side of the rack. Since the cassette loading port 52 positioned on the right or left end part of the device 50 is arranged in the vicinity of the window 16, the cassette can be carried through almost the shortest route and the route is also simplified. Since the retrieving device 50 and the rack 10 are arranged so as to form an approximately T shape on the plane view, a space sufficiently for inspection and maintenance to be executed from the rear face of the device 50 can be secured on the rear part of the device 50. Consequently, inspection and maintenance from the rear face of the device 50 can be also efficiently executed in addition to the operation from the front side.</p> |
