The roof (30) is made in the form of small strips (31) integrated in a caisson (32). A retractable rear window (20) consisting of a movable frame (21), extends from near the edge of the vehicle rear part (1) to the rear limit of the roof when the driving compartment is closed. In a horizontally retracted position, it extends from near the vehicle rear part to the rear of the last seat row. The movable frame engages, in its lower part, with the tipping mechanism (10) of the rear window carried by the vehicle bodywork. The caisson is separable from the vehicle bodywork and is carried by an upper part (24) of the movable frame. The movable frame takes a window (22) which is pivoted about a transverse spindle carried by the upper part of the movable frame.
