A friction clutch (A) with torsional damping mounted on a drive hub (2) and a pre-damper (B) which is mounted around the hub (2) and below the first damping springs (13) and between the guide washer (11) and the first disc (4). The pre- damper contains two flanges (8,9) fixed in rotation to the first disc (4) containing between them a second disc (6) fixed in rotation to the drive hub (2). Radial springs (3), of less strength than the first damping springs (13), are placed circumferentially between the disc (6) and the flanges (8,9) being mounted in cut-outs (31,34 - 32,36) provided in the flanges (8,9) and the disc (6). It is characterised in that a rubbing friction washer is placed between the first disc (4) and the flange (9) which has internal male teeth (30) which in one part engages with play (J) with the hub (2) and in the other part, certain of the housings (33,35), a third of them, mount the damping spring (3) without play whilst the rest (36) mount these springs (3) with play (J) with the second disc (6).
