The swimming pool (2) is reached through an entrance (8) leading into a footwear changing area (7) separated from the male and female changing areas (5, 6) by footbaths (13, 14) which ensure that everybody's feet are washed, or at least rinsed, before they enter the changing areas, where no shoes are worn. The footwear changing area has benches (11) where people can sit to take off and put on their shoes, and the footbaths (13, 14) are semi-circular in shape and project outside the main wall of the building, passing round the ends of dividing walls (16, 17) separating the footwear and clothing changing areas.
