Decorative element for hats resembles tuft of hair

A decorative element for e.g. a hat comprises a fibre bundle which is gathered in on one side by means of a tube. The fibre bundle consists of a large number of photoconductive fibres (3) of a preset length. A lighting device (6) is incorporated at the bundle end (4) gripped by the tube and permits light in the visible wave length range to be coupled into the bundle. The light comes out at the free fibre bundle end (23).
