<p>A device for storing gambling chips with an electronic memory circuit, comprising a rack (10) provided with a plurality of columns (32, 34, 36) for holding stacked chips (12, 14, 16) and an electronic communication unit (20) with antennas (40, 42, 44) associated with respective columns (32, 34, 36) of the rack, an interface (24) for sequentially selecting the antennas (40, 42, 44, 46) and a chip memory read/write unit (26). The communication unit (20) can communicate with the chips in each column (32, 34, 36) and, via the antenna (46), with a rack identification memory device (38) built into the frame of the rack (10) for storing data on the rack and the contents thereof. Said device is useful for providing an instantaneous inventory of the rack and determining the total value of the chips therein.</p> |
