<p>Fibres of filaments suitable for the production of a nonwoven fabrics, the fibres or filaments consisting essentially of a polyolefin or a copolymer thereof and 0.01-20 % by weight of inorganic particles, substantially all of the particles having a Mohs hardness of less than about 5 and preferably less than about 2, at least 90 % by weight of the inorganic particles having a particle size of less than 10 νm. Talc particles are particularly preferred. Particle-containing staple fibres according to the invention can be continuously formed into a web and thermobonded to a nonwoven fabric at high speeds, and they have a broad bonding window, reduced static electricity and a reduced friction coefficient.</p> |
