The device for picking up the excrement is a worm conveyor (11) driven by the motor (4) with accommodation chamber (12) for the excrement. The worm conveyor has a large-spaced screw pitch height. The accommodation chamber for excrement is arranged above the worm conveyor. The stick-type structure (1,2,3) is easy to take apart, so that access for emptying and cleaning the worm conveyor and/or the excrement accommodation chamber is simple and facilitated. At one end of the stick-type structure a removable or folded point (14) is provided, behind which the worm conveyor is arranged.
