The engine has, from its outlet, at least two flow separated conduits, controlled by a valve, connected to the turbocharger's exhaust turbine. At least one valve (2) is controllable after the commencement of compression in the cylinder. This valve is an engine brake valve and its associated conduit is an engine brake conduit (3). Several of the cylinders of the engine (1) have such a valve and associated conduit. The engine brake conduits are positioned separately from an exhaust gas conduit (13) in front of a running wheel (6a) of the exhaust gas turbine.
