Titling table for synchrotron radiation monochromator crystal mounted on table plate

Table plate (10) of a tilting table carries a synchrotron radiation monochromator crystal and a joint (20) holds the table over a support (30). A piezo-adjusting member (40) positioned remote from the rotation axis of the joint exerts a force between the table plate and the support to tilt the plate controllably. A second piezo-adjusting member (60) opposite the first member and also remote from the joint rotation axis can exert a force in a direction opposite to that of the first piezo-adjustment member. Preferably the two piezo-adjustment members are of the same type and are arranged symmetrically about the joint.
