Described is a knee orthesis with a cnemial section, a femoral section and a lateral and medial joint connecting the cnemial and femoral sections to each other. The orthesis is characterized in that the lateral joint consists of two meshing toothed wheels whose spindles are each secured on both sides to a plate, each of the two toothed wheels having a strut which secures the lateral joint to the cnemial section and the femoral section. The medial joint is a single-axis design consiting of a U-shaped upper section surrounding a lower section, the upper and lower sections being conected to each other by means of a pin.
