Female connector for telephone terminal apparatus

The telephone apparatus has a receiver (10) with a housing wall (1, 2), associated with a retainer for the female connector socket (6). A plug (7) is inserted into the female connector to form an electrical connection between at least one plug terminal and a corresponding contact of the female connector socket. The contact is conductively coupled to an electric or electronic component (3, 4) of the apparatus. The contact connection to the component is made using a contact reed arrangement (13, 14), formed on the contact. This resiliently abuts at a point allocated to the component. Preferably the contact reed is integrally formed with the contact.
