The device proposed for producing a particle cloud in a space particularly at an underpressure has a chamber (14) with a space (16) designed to hold particles (18), the chamber (14) having an inlet and outlet aperture (20, 22). The inlet aperture (20) is connected to a pressure-wave generator (28, 34). The pressure wave passes through the inlet aperture (20) into the particle-holding space (16) in the chamber (14) and ejects the particles (18) out through the outlet aperture (22).
