<p>The elactic-walled hydraulic mounting for automobile engines is designed to absorb low frequency high amplitude engine vibration whilst transmitting high frequency low amplitude support vibration. It has primary (19) and secondary (20) cells contg. hydraulic fluid. Part (1, 8) of the cell walls may be of rubber and a bleeding orifice (31, 32) communicates between the cells. The mounting comprises a hollow unit which is traversed axially by a vertical bolt (21) and subdivided by a horizontal metal diaphragm plate (17). The top (24) of the bolt attaches (25) to an engine bracket (26), and external flanges (27) at diaphragm (17) level attach (26) to the chassis (29). Metal cones (7, 14) with rubber rings (1, 8) form the top and bottom of the unit resp. and inclined plates (3, 4, 10, 11) from the diaphragm (17) form the side walls.</p> |
