Glass master manufacturing process for CD or CD-ROM

The glass master manufacturing process has the surface of the glass master coated with a photoresist before transfer of the data to the glass master. The data transfer is carried out via a laser beam recorder and a subsequent exposure of the photoresist to provide a photographic representation, providing a decorative pattern and/or an authenticity indication. The glass master is then developed and metallised. The visible image of the photographic mask may be provided within the information plane of the glass master, with a variation of the light intensity and exposure time to obtain the required optical effect.
