The invention concerns a device (10) for decanting powder into hard gelatin capsules or the like, the device comprising a metering disc (11) which is rotated in steps. Disposed below the metering disc (11) is a spacer disc (27) which is coupled thereto. According to the invention, in order to vary the volumes (30) of powder compacts, sleeves (23) which penetrate second bores (24) in the spacer disc (27) are inserted in the base of the metering disc (11), and the spacing (a) between the underside (26) of the metering disc (11) and the spacer disc (27) is designed to be varied by means of a setting screw (39). The device (10) according to the invention has a relatively simple construction and prevents inhomogeneities forming in the powder.
