The grain and granule grading cylinder has a horizontal rotating calibrating cylinder, with external cleaning rolls and internal entrained scoops which dip into the kidney-shaped region of material in the upwardly rotating bottom quarter of the calibrating cylinder and which, on continuing upwards rotation of the calibrating cylinder, raise scooped volume portions, these portions being poured out, on further rotation, for free fall scattering against the free inner wall of the calibrating cylinder to achieve sieving. Preferably, the scoops consist of angle profiles (9) which extend in a parallel or spiral manner and are mounted near the inner wall of the calibrating cylinder (8).
