The device is a suction unit for a lavatory bowl. It consists of a flat hollow body, positioned at the back of the bowl rim. It has an inner suction aperture, projecting into the bowl, and a connection aperture at the outer bowl edge, for connection to a suction pipe, which leads to a filter unit. The suction pipe has an elevator unit. The device is glued to the lavatory bowl edge, and is covered by a film in the colour of the bowl. It has a control device, to switch on the elevator when the toilet lid is raised, and to switch off the elevator, when the flush is operated, and/or the lid is lowered.
