An intermediate for synthetizing vitamin D3 derivatives having an OH group at the 1alpha position including 1alpha,25-dihydroxy vitamin D3 useful for the treatment of calcium methabolism deficient diseases such as chronic renal failures, hypoparathroidism or osteomalacia. PREPARATION:A pregnane derivative of formula IV (A is halogen or sulfonyloxy) is reacted with a cyanhydrin derivative of formula V in the presence of a basin substance such as sodium hexamethyl disilazide in a solvent to provide the compound of formula I, which is irradiated with U.V. light to prepare a new 9,10-secosteroid derivative of formula III.</p> |
