<p>One-piece plastic shoe base comprises an inner portion conforming to the shape of the foot, and an outer sole with a raised edge to the inside or outside of which the upper and or straps are adhered around the whole periphery or only in sections. The raised edge may be set back inwardly around the whole periphery or only in sections, to form a shoulder along the edge of the sole. The upper and/or the straps may be stitched to the raised edge or to parts of it along the edge of the sole in addition to adhesion. The resulting shoe or sandal does not require separate application of a sole, thus allowing easier mfr. at a lower cost, while maintaining durability and appearance.</p> |
