Thermal dye transfer receiving element with polycarbonate polyol crosslinked polymer

A dye receiving element comprises a support having, on one side, a dye receiving layer comprising a crosslinked polymer network formed by reaction of multifunctional isocyanates (I) with polycarbonate polyols having at least 2 terminal OH gps. (II) and an average mol. wt. of 1,000-10,000. Dibutyl tin diacetate (III) is used as crosslinking catalyst. Also claimed a process for forming a dye transfer image by the imagewise heating of a dye donor element and transfer of dye to the disclosed receiver element.
