System for heat fixing of toner images with electrically conducting constituents

The system for the heat fixing of toner images having electrically conducting constituents, namely ferromagnetic parts, includes an induction unit (IS1, IS2). The unit heats the toner images (TB) directly and thus fixes them. The induction unit has at least one coil, fed with AC, in the field of which the recording carrier (A) carrying the toner images (TB) is arranged. A first and a second coil arrangement (IS1, IS2) extend along both sides over the recording carrier (AT). The induction unit has a regulating unit, with associated desired value transmitter (SG), for the input of specific characteristic values. A preheater preheats the recording carrier in the transport direction before the induction unit.
