<p>Roll of thermal insulation for roof sealing comprises an insulating layer consisting of closely adjacent insulating strips or synthetic resin foam insulating panels, e.g. of polystyrene or polyurethane foam, which are cut to render them flexible. Laminated onto the insulating layer is a supporting polyester fibre mat which has bituminous coatings on its upper and lower surface, pref. of plastics-modified bitumen. The polyester fibre mats lies snugly adjacent to the surface of the insulating layer even on a rough substrate, thus providing greater adhesion to the substrate. Laying is facilitated, the risk of rotting is eliminated, and the material can be trodden on without damage even when soft insulating materials are used.</p> |
