<p>The tensioner is for a transmission chain between sprockets (20,22) on the ends of two parallel crankshafts (10,12) located inside a cylinder head fixed to a block by bolts (4). The tensioner consists of a tensioning element (28) which acts on the upper section (26) of the chain, and a shoe (30) which presses against the lower section (24) and is fitted between the heads of the cylinder head bolts (4). The cylinder head is made in a lower section (6) and an upper section (8), joining along a plane (P) containing the axes of the two camshafts. The lower section is fixed to the cylinder block by the bolts and the upper one has the tensioning element fixed to it. The shoe beneath the chain is made preferably from a hard plastics and has two recesses which engage with the heads of the bolts.</p> |
