PURPOSE:To prevent bending characteristics of polarized laser light from varying even when the laser light is bent in an optional direction by specifying the film thickness (t) of a dielectric incorporated in a metallic tube. CONSTITUTION:An equation I holds for the film thickness (t) of the dielectric 2 incorporated in the metallic tube 1. The film thickness of the dielectric 2 is only determined so that the reflection factor of a waveguide border surface to a TE wave is equal to the reflection factor to a TM wave, thereby eliminating the change in the bending characteristics to the polarization of an incident beam. Consequently, whatever polarized laser light is made incident with low loss, the bending characteristics do not vary with the bending direction and stable output light is therefore obtained. |
