PURPOSE:To unify the cell boosting temperature and to reduce the temperature boosting time by providing burners to let flow the combustion gas to heat exchangers as a heating medium to make it in an opposite flow up and down each other, and forming linking passages of the exhaust heating medium from the heat exchangers to the upper and the lower end plates of a cell stack. CONSTITUTION:Two thin heat exchangers 51 and 52 are placed between an air feeding manifold 3 and a cell stack 1, and burners 61 and 62 are attached to the lower side of the one heat exchanger 51, and to the upper side of the other heat exchanger 52 respectively. And linking passages 81 and 82 for the exhaust heating medium from the heat exchangers 51 and 52 are formed to the upper and the lower end plates 2 of the cell stack 1. And since the air with no mixture of combustion gas is used for the heating gas for the cell temperature boosting, the air electrode receives no bad influence of the combustion product. And the feeding air to the cell stack 1 is heated by the heat exchangers 51 and 52 making the heating medium into the opposite flow up and down, and at the same time, the upper and the lower end plates 2 are heated by the exhaust heating medium from the heat exchangers 51 and 52. Consequently, a uniform cell boosting temperature is realized and the temperature boosting time can be reduced. |
