PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a futile telephone call fee in the case where the owner of the slave machine of a PHS(personal handyphone system) calls a mail host, and takes out mail addressed to himself. SOLUTION: A switching network 3, a base station 2 connected to the switching network, a slave machine 1 and the mail host 4 which is connected to the switching network and registers the mail addressed to the slave machine 1 together with its telephone number are provided, and when the mail host 4 receives a caller number sent from an exchange on the basis of the call origination of the slave machine 1, in the case where the mail is registered correspondently to the caller number, it responds to call incoming, and transmits the corresponding mail to the slave machine 1. Besides, in the case where no mail is registered, since it does not respond to the call incoming while incoming ringing continues prescribed number times, the owner of the slave machine 1 judges that the mail addressed to himself is not yet registered for this period, and abandons the call origination, and therefore, such a trouble that the fee is charged though the mail could not be taken out can be canceled.
