PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate demand for an increase in size and resistance against radioactive rays with a simple structure by providing a wire applied with a nuclear transformation substance in a container with gas which emits light under existence of charged particles sealed and transmitting an optic signal generated by the gas via an optic fiber. SOLUTION: When neutrons (n) from a neutron generation source are received by a sensor 1 and absorbed at an arbitrary position of a wire 4 in a container 3, charged particles (e) are emitted from a neutron absorbed position P to be measured, and gas 6 issues an optic signal OS along an orbit of the charged particles (e). The optic signal OS is received by an optic fiber 5 in the vicinity of the neutron absorbed position P as an expected quantity of light and transmitted to two photoelectric converters 8 from a light introduced position via the optic fiber 5. Detection signals S1, S2 of the photoelectric converters 8 are output to a signal processor 9, difference in quantities of light across the optic fiber 5 is calculated, the light introduced position of the optic fiber 5 is specified from the difference, the neutron absorbed position P of the wire 4 is estimated, and the estimated results are monitored as data regarding an spatial output distribution of neutrons.
