PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniquely designed writing instrument capable of meeting requirements such as function, handling, safety and decorative effect. SOLUTION: An insertion engaging part designed for an airtight effect upon the contact between a writing tip 3 and the tip of a shaft cylinder 1 when a cap 2 is mounted is synchronized with a climbing-over and engaging part designed for preventing the cap 2 from slipping off the cylinder shaft 1 for the simultaneous initiation of an insertion engaging action and a climbing-over and engaging action, between the cap 2 and the cylinder shaft 1. Thus, a finger receives a pressing load only once. In addition, a clip 36 which is wider than a leg part 36-1 connected to the cap 2 and has an air void 39 formed from a head part including the connected leg part 36-1 upto an opening part, is integrally attached to the outer face of the cap 2. At the same time, a vertical groove is provided running continuously in parallel from the head part to the opening part, bordering on the connecting leg part 36-1. If the cap 2 is swallowed by mistake, a wide and adequate air circulating space is safely secured by the air void 39 between the outer face of the cap 2 and the clip 36 and two vertical grooves. |
