<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and economically recover a ruthenium complex by a method having no fear bringing about the deactivation of a ruthenium complex catalyst upon the exposure to a utmost heat treatment in a hydrogenating reaction soln. and to reutilize the same in hydrogenating reaction if necessary. SOLUTION: A catalyst soln. containing a reaction solvent obtained by removing an objective product from a reaction product soln. obtained by hydrogenating an org. carbonyl compd. in the presence of a ruthenium complex having a tertiary organophosphorus compd. as a ligand is extracted with water and a non-polar org. solvent at 40 deg.C or higher to be separated into a non-polar org. solvent phase containing the ruthenium complex and an aq. phase containing the reaction solvent and, subsequently, the non-polar org. solvent is distilled off from the non-polar org. solvent phase to concentrate and separate the ruthenium complex.</p> |
