<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the head of a golf club which secures easy swinging- through, contributes to an increase in the carry of a hit ball and is excellent in the directivity of the hit ball. SOLUTION: A face plate 14 is fixed and arranged at the front surface of a head body 2 formed by using a rigid synthetic resin and an anvil 15 having mass is fixed and arranged in the position behind this plate. The inside of the head body 2 is formed of a cylindrical part and ribs to a hollow shape. Foamed styrol 18 is packed into the cylindrical part and the rib space part. The carry of the hit ball is extended by the anvil effect of the anvil 15 at the time of impact. Since weights 11 on both sides in the rear part fall rectilinearly in parallel at the time of a swing, the face is held perpendicular to the swung-through direction without chatter by the inertia of these weights. The directivity of the hit ball is thus improved.</p> |
