PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the expanded image of a tubular subject like an abdominal tube, etc., on a monitor screen in the arrangement that the expanded image signals of the subject are generated by an image signal generating means from the image signals taken from a longitudinally preset area of the full circumference of the tubular subject. SOLUTION: A slit image of every preset angle is taken while a line sensor 2 connected with a rotating axis 4 rotates in the tip part main body 1a, which has all transparent sides, of an insert 1. The emission end 15a of a light guide 15 set in the insert 1 is cylindrically formed and on this emission plane 15a a conical reflecting mirror for bending the path of illumination light approximately by a right angle is attached. The expanded image of the inner wall of an abdominal tube, etc., is displayed on a monitor screen by an image signal generating part based on a number of slit images, which are taken while the line sensor 2 rotates, and the signals on the angle positions of the line sensor 2 obtained from an encoder.
