PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce data compression processing selection burden and to shorten the compression processing time of transfer data transferred from an information processor on a printing device-side. SOLUTION: When CPU 1 obtains information on a compression resource stored in a printer 2, a data compression method for transfer data is decided based on the type of transfer data transferred to the printer 2 and obtained information on the compression resource. Identification information (identification code) corresponding to the decided data compression method is added to transfer data and it is transferred to the printer 2.
