PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a cutter for a long time even after it is abraded in cutting of a workpiece and to reduce frequency of cutter replacement. SOLUTION: A cutter is provided with a workpiece holding table 2 which freely holds a workpiece W and can be reciprocated in the longitudinal direction in a horizontal plane and is provided with a longitudinal groove 1, a tilting plate 3 provided with a cutter 7, a part of which is protruded from the groove 1 so as to cut the workpiece W, and an electric motor 8 driving the cutter 7, a horizontal pivot shaft 4 pivoting the tilting plate 3, and a tilt applying mechanism 5 tilting the tilting plate 3 around the horizontal shaft center L of the pivot shaft 4. The tilting plate 3 is tilted by means of the tilt applying mechanism 5, and the cutter 7 protruding height from the surface 19 of the table 2 can be regulated to the predetermined value. |
