PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fiber products which are suitable for rental having proliferation inhibition of Escherichia coli by application of colloidal elemental sulfur to a fiber product at least partially containing cellulosic fibers. SOLUTION: Viscose rayon fibers are dipped in a sodium sulfide aqueous solution in which sulfur is dissolved, squeezed, dipped in an acid solution, for example, of sulfuric acid. They are taken out from the acid solution, when the liberation of hydrogen sulfide ceases, whereby the objective viscose rayon fibers containing 0.01-20wt.% of colloidal elemental sulfur, excellent in proliferation inhibition of Escherichia coli. Mixed spun yarns of these viscose rayon fibers and cotton are used as warp and weft to produce plain-woven towel cloth. Then, this towel cloth is scoured, bleached and dyed with a fluorescent dye to produce the objective towel products having effect of inhibiting infestation of Escherichia coli. |
