PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color printer capable of performing printing in a color matched with the ground color of paper to be printed from now on without taking labor. SOLUTION: In an ink jet printer, when paper ready to be printed from now on is applied to an optical scanner 100, the ground color thereof is read and it is discriminated whether the paper is pure white paper or yellowish paper and, when the paper is judged to be pure white paper, a color to be printed is calculated by using a standard color conversion table 301C and, when the paper is judged to be paper of which the ground color is yellowish like a goverment postcard, a color to be printed is calculated by using a correction color conversion table 302C. |
