PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthesis inhibitor capable of effectively improving and curing a physiological state of a patient having an autoimmune disease such as type I diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis by using a readily available specific extract. SOLUTION: This synthesis inhibitor uses a malt extract as an active component of a synthesis inhibitor of heat-shock protein having 57-68kDa molecular weight. As the malt extract, e.g. directly an article on the market, or preferably an article removed a low molecular weight fraction from the malt extract on the market by a dialysis, etc., can be used. Otherwise, an article obtained by saccharifying the malt, filtering, extracting the resultant residue with water, a hydrophilic solvent or their mixed solution and removing a low molecular weight compound fraction having <=1×10<4> molecular weight may be used. In this case, the extraction is performed under an alkaline condition, a precipitated substance is removed by neutralizing the resultant extract solution and a low molecular weight fraction is removed from the supernatant, then the resultant substance is more preferably used. |
