PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of the work to fix an optical fiber and a sleeve, to prevent the adhesion of a heat resistant adhesive to parts exclusive of the required parts and to securely fix the optical fiber and the sleeve to each other and the sleeve and a ferrule to each other. SOLUTION: The optical fiber 1 is inserted into the sleeve 2 until the boundary part between the optical fiber 1 and a first resin layer 1c bump against the boundary part of bore parts 2a, 2b. The heat resistant adhesive 3 is packed between the fiber 1 and the first resin layer 1c and the bore parts 2a, 2b from through-holes 2d, 2e and is penetrated therein to fix the optical fiber 1 to the sleeve 2. After the heat resistant adhesive 3 is accumulated into the thread grooves 2c formed on the outer periphery of the sleeve 2, the sleeve 2 is inserted into the ferrule 4, by which the sleeve is fixed to the ferrule 4. After the end face of the optical fiber 1 is ground, the outside diameter of the ferrule 4 is finished to a desired size on the basis of the central axis of the core 1a. The external threads 5a of a cap 5a are screwed and mounted to the internal threads 4c of the ferrule 4. |
