PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject conjugate splittable fiber low in calorific value when combusted, good in biodegradability and storage stability, low in offensive odor, composed of a lactic acid-based copolyester and a crystalline biodegradable polymer, and to obtain a dense and uniform biodegradable fibrous sheet made of the above fiber. SOLUTION: This conjugate splittable fiber is composed of a lactic acid-based copolyester 110-190 deg.C in melting point composed of three kinds of structural unit, namely, (A) lactic acid component, (B) dicarboxylic acid component and (C) diol component, and a crystalline biodegradable polymer. The other objective fibrous sheet contains the above conjugate splittable fibers; one version of the fibrous sheet is a blend of the above biodegradable conjugate splittable fibers and biodegradable thermofusible fibers containing a low-melting lactic acid-based copolyester 20-70 deg.C lower in melting point than the lactic acid-based copolyester contained in the above biodegradable conjugate splittable fiber. |
