Vacuum cleaner with seesaw type switching plate

The vacuum cleaner has two one-piece push buttons (3) arranged at opposite ends of a rocking plate (2). One of these buttons (3) serves to operate an on/off switch of the cleaner. The other serves to release the brake of a cable drum. The plate (2) has holding strips which engage support strips on the cleaner housing (1). The holding strips are provided on opposite sides of the plate (2) and run parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cleaner housing (1). The holding strips and the support strips are held together under spring force. The plate (2) has at least one holding arm (7) extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis (6) of the cleaner housing (1). At least one locking hook (8) is provided on this arm (7) at an acute angle. A counter locking element (9) with a locking strip (11) cooperating with the free end of the hook (8) is provided on the housing (1). A transverse support (13) on the housing (1) supports the holding arm (7) in the transverse direction.
