The frame for the front of an electrical cabinet comprises two uprights (15) which are joined together at their top and bottom ends by two crossbars (16). Each of the uprights includes on its front, a divisible part (18), perpendicular to a portion (19) of the crossbars. This is intended to receive an inserted door panel. Each of the uprights is symmetrical w.r.t. the vertical median plane of the frame (14), and the crossbars are symmetrical w.r.t. the horizontal median plane of the frame. The frame sections are moulded profiles with a core section and a projecting fin, defining the seating within which the door panel may be received.
