The umbrella comprises a central rod (11), a closing spring (18) and branching skeleton (12). The rod is split into upper (111), middle (112) and lower sections (113) telescoped together. The upper section has a receiver (13) through which a cable (71) leads out of to attach to a setting tube (31). This tube is attached to a lower receiver (14) which can move along the rod, and has a latch (30) and spring (32). An opening spring (2) extends between the upper receiver and an overhang in the rod along a long hollow seat (70) in the rod. The seat contains a movable (72) and a fixed (73) cable seat. The movable cable seat is attached to the cable. Another cable passes from the fixed seat, through the movable, back through the fixed and ends a shuttle (4). The shuttle lies in a grip (6) and passes through a seat (51), where it is gripped. The grip lies at the end of the lower section and has a button (61) to disengage a latch (54) against the rod. Another spring (67) lies in the grip.
