Power supply for bus-connected controllers and loads in motor vehicle

The ignition switch (10) is supplied with current from a battery terminal (30) via a relay (12) whose excitation winding (12.2) is connected to a special output (14.2) of a signal detector and driver module (14). If the voltage is excessive or its polarity is incorrect, a characteristic signal is produced which disconnects the ignition switch from the terminal. Other outputs from the same module operate the relays (16.1,16.2) supplying the controllers (19,20.1-20.3) via conventional fuses (17,18). The loads are divided into groups (23,25) protected by individual fuses (22,24) and supplied from separate terminals (15,15R) of the ignition switch.
