Stabilised rectified supply for quasi-resistive input impedance

The supply includes a pre-regulator (2) which has an input transformer (21) with a switching circuit in series with the primary coil and connected to the rectifier output. The transformer secondary coil is connected in series with a rectifying element (24) and has a capacitor (25) across the output to produce the pre-regulated voltage. The pre-regulated voltage is measured (26) and a representative signal voltage is produced. The current intensity through the primary coil and the magnetic flux through the core are measured and representative signals are similarly obtained. The signals are sent to a control circuit (27) which sends a signal to a switching circuit for chopper modulation of the rectified signal.
