The method for forming a connection between two components (10,11) of the frame of an electricity meter includes formation of a tenon (10) with an arched shape on the first component, with an opening (15) made within the centre of the arch. The second component has a mortise (13) shaped to receive the tenon. The tenon is inserted into the mortise until the two components lie closely in contact, and the tenon projects beyond the surface of the second component. The tip of the tenon is then subject to pressure to flatten the arch of the tenon and thus widen it so as to anchor the tenon within the mortise. Alternative shapes are suggested for the tenon, each requiring application of pressure on its end in order to widen it and secure it within the mortise provided.
