The brushless motor includes the stator (12) which has several phase coils (38') interconnected to allow at least two phases on some of them. Several coils serving as sensors (38) are wound on at least two separate circuits (CT1, CT2). Each sensor is connected magnetically to a phase coil by the stator. The armature (10) has a number of magnetisable polar elements (24). Current is applied to excite feedback coils so as to produce feedback signals from the two sensor circuits to determine the position of the armature. A current is applied to excite the phase coils at a switching angle to maintain rotational equilibrium . The variations in the feedback signal are determined to find the real switching angle which is used to determine the phase polarity and the armature direction.
